App-V Generator

Postby Necros » Thu Jun 09, 2011 1:50 pm

Hello

Here at "Infopulse" we've created a tool called App-V Generator. Main functions are creating and editing app-v packages, but there are some usefull functions, that can ease the package creation and debugging process:

- snapshot based package creation process
- scripts pool (predefined and customizable scripts, that can be easily integrated to the OSD in one click)
- Properties Inspector (feature that allows you to find hardcoded paths, links, URLs, server adresses, etc. in the files and registry and then easily edit them)

You can check out the trial version at http://www.infopulse.com.ua/eng/Solutio ... -Generator
It's not the latest release, but soon it will be posted there and i'll keep you updated

Vladimir,

Looks interesting, good luck with your new tool! One thing, I really couldn't find from the pages how this product is licensed as it only says it's an evaluation version..?

So far the licensing mechanism is key based registration, we'll update the page and upload a new relese with a bunch of changes and fixes soon. It will also include the new registration and what's more important reworked package creation wizard. So stay tuned, folks :)

This sounds like an interesting feature.

It sure is. In our App-V packaging projects we've been dealing with all sorts of problems caused by the hardcoded paths/links/servernames etc. Therefore, when we decided to write our own sotware for App-V packages creation this feature was one of the top priorities. Also combined with the integrated "File-text/replace" script App-V Generator makes resolving hardcoded paths into environment variables (or whatever) quite easy and fast.

Make sure to try it out in the latest release, which will be posted thursday 16-th :)

Hello all

The thing we've all waited for so long has finally happened :)

The new version of the App-V Generator has arrived. Now it has slightly improved UI and some main updates:

- added package creation wizard. Now you can create the App-V package completely within the Generator.
- Properties inspector evolved to the next stage: grouping properties and jumping to them via UI

So in order to evaluate all those features download the latest version from our site. And please give your opinions on this :)
