Orphaned license sessions are not closed

Post by chainsaw » Mon Feb 18, 2013 5:27 pm

Hi,

I have a issue where my orphaned sessions and license sessions are not closed. I already read and applied following articles:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/appv/archive ... tarts.aspx
http://blogs.technet.com/b/appv/archive ... ation.aspx (steps 7 and 9)

So I know there is a stored procedure SFTclosesessions that is supposed to clean everything up based on the date found in the MESSAGE LOG table for records with message id 44951 (successful server startup). The problem I have is that there are no reccrds with msg_id 44951 logged in the MESSAGE LOG table so the stored procedure is not able to use the proper cut off date of the server and the stored procedure can't do it's task.

These messages do get logged in the sft-server.log file.
I really don't have a clue why these messages are not logged in the SQL dabase table.

Thanks!

Turns out that the problem was the fact that the database was already over the size limit because of problems with the enforce size limt job that never ran properly. The messages did get created but were deleted by the enforce size limit job. Increasing the database size limit solved the problem.
