JNLP Conflicts between 4.6SP3 and 5.0SP3 migration mode

Post by Kevin » Wed Jul 01, 2015 11:50 am

Hi everybody,

Hope you are well.

I perform tests in order to validate cohabitation between version 4.6Sp3 and 5.0Sp3 on same machine using migration mode (set by GPO to enabled using ADMX Appv5.0 template provided by Microsoft). and at this time it seems to works correctly excepted for JNLP association.

Scenario 1:
Bubble IE with JRE embedded
Client appv 4.6 installed and OK
Client appv 5.0 installed and service disabled (without configuration, no FTA, shortcut, publishing server etc...)
Bubble IE start JNLP file correctly without prompt

Scenario 2:
Bubble IE with JRE embedded
Client appv 4.6 installed and OK
Client appv 5.0 installed and service enabled (without configuration, no FTA, shortcut, publishing server etc...)
Bubble IE start JNLP file display "Save, Save As, Run "

Someone is able to explain what's happen ? Why with 5.0 SP3 it seems to have conflicts between FTA's ? There is NO configuration (via registry or GPO).

Nothing on analytics log AppV. Nothing with PROCMON.

No problem for other applications, this is only for JNLP (tested with 3 different JNLP on 3 machines and same issue).

Thanks in advance if you have a way of troubleshooting of something to try to understand.

Have a nice day.

Kind regards,
